Create festive, fun holiday magic with an in-the-hoop tree skirt from Designs by JuJu—perfect for your embroidery machine.
Christmas is less than six months away and the holiday feels are in the air with Designs by JuJu’s latest tree skirt. While it may be hot outside, it’s time to get a jump on Christmas decorating and fire up the embroidery machine.
In today’s blog post, I have rounded up a variety of resources to help you successfully stitch out the new Nutcracker Tree Skirt (and any other tree skirt from DBJJ). Whether this is your first tree skirt or you’ve made one before, you are sure to find some great, helpful tips and tricks.
Check out the DBJJ team’s favorite supplies in the Designs by JuJu Amazon store.
The Nutcracker Tree Skirt is available in four hoop sizes (5x7, 150x240, 6x10, and 8x12). What makes this tree skirt unique from Designs by JuJu’s other tree skirt releases is that there are only two tiers (inner and outer), versus the usual three (inner, middle, and outer).
The Nutcracker Tree Skirt is stitched in the hoop using your embroidery machine, with the final assembly, backing, and binding completed using a sewing machine. There are 42 total hoopings required (21 inner and 21 outer blocks). While the layout remains the same, you have the ability to choose between five inner block options (Ballerina, Holly, Nutcracker, Rocking Horse, and Tree), five pieced outer block options (Candy Canes, Gift, Holly 1, Holly 2, and Snowflake), and eleven stitched character outer blocks.
Each of these inner and outer blocks can be arranged in any order and pattern you choose to create a one-of-a-kind tree skirt personalized to your family’s style and decor. Tree skirts from Designs by JuJu are truly special because of the endless options for customization and creativity.
Our design team has been busy creating a variety of tree skirt samples to inspire you.
Included with every in-the-hoop purchase from Designs by JuJu is a detailed PDF with step-by-step instructions for that project. The Nutcracker Tree Skirt PDF includes stitching steps and examples for all three blocks (inner, pieced outer, and character outer), as well as detailed assembly instructions. Each tree skirt from DBJJ is professionally digitized with exclusive patterns you won’t find anywhere else! As a DBJJ customer myself, I can assure you that you will not be disappointed with any purchase you make from Designs by JuJu.
Additionally, Becky Thompson from Power Tools with Thread has created a three-part video series showing how to stitch the ITH North Pole Village Tree Skirt. While this tree skirt is slightly different than the Nutcracker Tree Skirt in terms of layout and style, the stitch and assembly process remains the same.
