Instant heirloom! Create a beautiful Christmas tree skirt that will be a family favorite for years to come!
Customize with fabrics and thread of your choice, picking and arranging the snowman blocks however you'd like to make a unique project! This set includes a total of twenty applique blocks to choose from (only fifteen are needed for the tree skirt), as well as two different options for the inner and outer blocks.
4 sizes included: 5x7, 6x10, 150x240 hoop (slightly smaller 6x10) and 8x12
Approximate finished sizes:
5x7 - 36.5" Diameter
150 x 240 hoop (which is slightly smaller than the universal 6x10) - 44" Diameter
6x10 - 47" Diameter
8x12 - 54" Diameter
Please note: the outer blocks for this tree skirt are a different shape than our previous tree skirts. The scallops are deeper which affects the block size and overall diameter a bit.
Requires 45 hoopings. Fifteen applique blocks and 30 embroidery-only blocks are stitched completely in the hoop, and then joined together with your sewing machine. The backing and optional binding are added with your sewing machine. Our instructions include sewing the backing onto the pieced tree skirt right sides together and inverting the project. Other samples may show additional piping or binding, which are intermediate sewing skills NOT required nor included in our directions.
Easy to make and assemble! Our samples were all stitched on single-needle embroidery machines! Complete step by step PDF photo tutorial and detailed colorcharts included with your download. No additional software or cutting machines required.
NEEDED SUPPLIES:
- No Show Mesh Cut Away Stabilizer: enough for 45 hoopings
- Batting: Can use crib to a twin size package
- Background Fabric:
5x7 size: 1 yard for Inner blocks, 1 yard for Middle blocks, 1 Yard for Outer blocks
6x10 sizes: 1.5 yards for Inner blocks, 1.5 yards for Middle blocks, 1.25 yards for Outer blocks
8x12 size: 2.25 yards for Inner blocks, 2 yards for Middle blocks, 1.5 yards for Outer blocks
- SF101 interfacing: We recommend adding SF101 to the background fabric to prevent puckering when
stitching out the detailed blocks, so enough for 45 hoopings.
- Applique Fabrics: Assorted prints for fifteen blocks (detailed cutting chart included with purchase)
- Backing Fabric (5x7 size: 40x40", 6x10 sizes: 50x50”, 8x12 size: 57x57”)
- 1” Double Fold Bias Tape (5x7 size: 39" long, 6x10 sizes: 48” long, 8x12 size: 56” long)

Our designs are manually digitized and test stitched before release. For best results we recommend stitching our designs unaltered on projects hooped with stabilizer appropriate for the material being used. We cannot guarantee results when our designs have been modified in software or non-traditional hooping methods are used. We highly recommend doing a test stitch on an altered design before putting it on a valuable blank.That being said, we are often asked for a recommendation for embroidery editing software for customizing purposes:
