This mug rug is completely stitched in the hoop; no additional hand or sewing machine stitching required. The side border fabric strips are attached during the embroidery process. The background of the left side is lightly quilted. The ricrac is also embroidered on the machine. There are 2 stitch files in your download. One with the design on the left side and another without the design. That way you can fussy cut fabric to provide a design on the left side or insert a design of your own choosing.
This is a good project for small left over pieces of fabric.
The design also comes with a printable tag in pdf format. The tag explains what a mug rug is and how to take care for it.

Our designs are manually digitized and test stitched before release. For best results we recommend stitching our designs unaltered on projects hooped with stabilizer appropriate for the material being used. We cannot guarantee results when our designs have been modified in software or non-traditional hooping methods are used. We highly recommend doing a test stitch on an altered design before putting it on a valuable blank.
