This project will take an ordinary composition book and transform into a very special gift for birthdays, Mother's Day, or any other time. The cover was intentionally designed to be easily adaptable to different themes and recipients. With the right fabric choices, this cover can have a masculine or feminine appeal. You can also use plain fabric in the center and insert a design of your own choosing.
This is an in the hoop project that is completed in 3 quick hoopings. For closure, there is an optional elastic strap that can be left off, if preferred. The elastic strap can be made from a decorative elastic or from plain elastic, covered with cotton fabric. Instructions are included that show how to make fabric covered elastic straps. Should you decide to make the fabric covered strap, there is a small amount of machine sewing involved with that. Otherwise, there is no extra sewing machine or hand stitching required. The center of the front and the entire back of the cover are quilted.
There are 3 stitch files in your download : the (partially) quilted front, the quilted back, and the spine.
With the right fabrics it can become a garden, prayer, travel, sewing or even a pregnancy journal.

Our designs are manually digitized and test stitched before release. For best results we recommend stitching our designs unaltered on projects hooped with stabilizer appropriate for the material being used. We cannot guarantee results when our designs have been modified in software or non-traditional hooping methods are used. We highly recommend doing a test stitch on an altered design before putting it on a valuable blank.
