Protect your hands from a hot bowl of soup or a cold bowl of ice cream with a Bowl Cozy! This set includes two different stitch styles: a crosshatch quilting pattern and a decorative motif fill pattern.
5x7 or 6x10 hoop required
Approximate Finished Sizes:
The Small Bowl Cozy finishes with approximately 7" diameter and can be made in a 5x7 hoop
The Medium Bowl Cozy finishes with approximately 9" diameter and can be made in a 6x10 hoop
Instructions for two different construction methods are included. In order for the Bowl Cozy to be microwave safe, you MUST use 100% cotton supplies for every aspect of the cozy (batting, fabric, top and bobbin threads).
Requires 8 hoopings. Eight single units are stitched completely in the hoop: four for the inside of the bowl, four for the outside of the bowl. Those units are then joined together with your sewing machine; a bit of hand sewing is required to close an opening.
For machines with larger stitch fields, BONUS FILES are included so two units can be stitched as one.
For the Small Bowl Cozy, the double files require a true 6x10 hoop (they do not fit in a 150x240 hoop).
For the Medium Bowl Cozy, the double files require a 7x12 hoop.
When using the bonus double files, only 4 hoopings are required (two for the inside, two for the outside).

Our designs are manually digitized and test stitched before release. For best results we recommend stitching our designs unaltered on projects hooped with stabilizer appropriate for the material being used. We cannot guarantee results when our designs have been modified in software or non-traditional hooping methods are used. We highly recommend doing a test stitch on an altered design before putting it on a valuable blank.That being said, we are often asked for a recommendation for embroidery editing software for customizing purposes:
