You will fall in love with this project at first stitch! This sweet machine embroidery-themed wall hanging explores several different embroidery techniques: traditional applique, reverse applique, stitch-and-flip applique, and fringe. It also provides the opportunity to explore fun types of material like mylar and faux leather vinyl. Use clear vinyl to make a functioning pocket to hold your favorite small sewing notions. Made with the fabric and threads of your choice, it will be the perfect addition to your sewing studio!
Available in one size for 5x7 hoop.
Approximate finished size: 14" x 21"
When using a 5x7 hoop only, this project requires 14 hoopings. Seventeen blocks are stitched completely in the hoop, then joined together with your sewing machine. The backing is added with your sewing machine.
For machines with larger stitch fields, BONUS FILES are included for the following:
- The embroidery machine block with top and bottom strips (Block E) can be stitched as one large block; it requires a 7x12 or 8x8 hoop.
- The borders (Block H) can be stitched as long blocks; it requires an 8x14 hoop.

Our designs are manually digitized and test stitched before release. For best results we recommend stitching our designs unaltered on projects hooped with stabilizer appropriate for the material being used. We cannot guarantee results when our designs have been modified in software or non-traditional hooping methods are used. We highly recommend doing a test stitch on an altered design before putting it on a valuable blank. That being said, we are often asked for a recommendation for embroidery editing software for customizing purposes:
