Bring signs of spring and summer into your home with our Garden Whimsy Wall Hanging! This project has twelve blocks, each with stitch-and-flip borders and a lovely floral embroidery-only design on top.
Available in five sizes: 5x5, 6x6, 7x7, 7.75x7.75, and 8x8
NOTE: These are sized to match Quilting Backdrops! The design files are named according to the FINISHED SIZE of the block, not necessarily the hoop in which it fits.
*The 5x5 blocks will fit in a 5x7 hoop
*The 6x6 blocks will fit in a true 6x10 hoop (it will NOT fit in the smaller VP3 150x240 hoop)
*The 7x7 blocks will fit in a 7x12 hoop
*The 7.75x7.75 blocks will fit in an 8x8 hoop
*The 8x8 blocks requires a 9x14 hoop
Approximate finished sizes (using our proposed layout of 3 rows of 4 blocks):
5x5 - 15" x 20"
6x6 - 18" x 24"
7x7 - 21" x 28"
7.75x7.75 - 23.5" x 31"
8x8 - 24" x 32"
Requires 12 hoopings. Twelve blocks are stitched completely in the hoop, then joined together with your sewing machine. The backing and optional hanging tags are also added with your sewing machine.
The floral designs feature a mix of sketch and motif fills; therefore we highly recommend using a light solid or tone-on-tone print for the background fabric of the block, allowing the design details to pop!
Since these blocks are sized to match Quilting Backdrops, that means you can further customize your project by adding sashings and/or additional blocks using the quilting motif of your choice!

Our designs are manually digitized and test stitched before release. For best results we recommend stitching our designs unaltered on projects hooped with stabilizer appropriate for the material being used. We cannot guarantee results when our designs have been modified in software or non-traditional hooping methods are used. We highly recommend doing a test stitch on an altered design before putting it on a valuable blank.That being said, we are often asked for a recommendation for embroidery editing software for customizing purposes:
