Even if you flunked "Inserting Zippers 101", you will find them easy once you do them on an embroidery machine. Even if you've never tried an in the hoop project before, you'll find making this bag is easy! Our many testers (from beginners to pros) agreed! There is no stitching over metal parts of the zipper!

Design Info:

This design is made completely in the hoop, in one hooping. Whip stitching a side seam is required. The snack and sandwich bags are lined (with seamed edges/ NO raw edges) so there are fewer places for crumbs to hide.

All sizes are included with your purchase!

5x7 snack bag (can be used for a small half sandwich) and sandwich bags: 6x10, 7x12, 8x12.

Actual design sizes and hoop sizes required:

(Finished size is approximately 1/2 of an inch smaller than the actual design size)

5x7 snack bag: Actual design size: 4.54 inches by 6.85 inches (130x180mm hoop); SC: 3030.

6x10: Actual design size: 6.23 inches by 6.75 inches (160x260mm hoop); SC: 3097.

7x12: Actual design size: 6.89 inches by 7.26 inches (180x300mm hoop); SC: 3379.

8x12: Actual design size: 7.76 inches by 7.26 inches (200x300mm hoop); SC: 3664.

*Other sizes of hoops *could* be used as long as the hoop is not a split hoop and the dimensions of the design fit inside the actual stitch area of your hoop. Please refer to your embroidery machine dealer if you are unsure about your hoop size.

Please check your hoop sizes prior to placing your order. Refunds will not be given if the designs do not fit your embroidery hoop.

A note about sizing: The reusable snack bag comes in the following hoop size: 5x7 (this bag will fit snacks as well as a small half sandwich). The reusable sandwich bags come in three hoop sizes: 6x10 (fits a half sandwich), 7x12 and 8x12 (both fit a full sandwich, however if you are using larger bread slices you might like to use the 8x12 sized bag) . Please note that the sandwich bags were tested for size using a standard size loaf of bread.

A note about fabric and food storage safety: Reusable food storage bags are so popular right now! They offer a great alternative to plastic baggies. However, because reusable storage bags come in direct contact with food, we believe it is important to use food safe fabric when constructing them. We chose to make our bags with a laminated cotton fabric labeled as food safe and felt it was the right choice for our family. One of our test stitchers used Pro-care fabric which is also labeled as food safe. Food safe laminated cotton fabric and Pro-care fabric can be found by doing a Google search--search for BPA free and PVC free/ phlalate and lead free laminated fabric, Pro-care fabric and food safe fabric--we've also given a few links to online stores in the instructions. We believe fabric not labeled as food safe, including but not limited to: laminated cotton fabric not labeled as food safe, Oil cloth and PUL fabric (most commonly used for making diaper covers) should not be used for bags intended for food storage. Rip stop nylon is often used to make food storage bags, however at the time these instructions were written we could not confirm that it is food safe and there is no labeling to indicate whether it is or not. It should be noted that Digistitches LLC is not a food safe fabric expert. It is 100% your responsibility to be pro-active in choosing to make these bags with fabric labeled as food safe and to rely on the manufacturers labeling of said products and deciding whether or not reusable food storage bags is the best choice for your family. Please know that different countries may have differing opinions on food storage and food storage safety. Formats available: DST, EXP, JEF, HUS, PES, VIP, VP3 & XXX for ALL purchases. (ART, PCS and SEW formats will not be available for Oma's Place Designs. For all other designs, PCS and SEW formats will only include 4x4 files when available for the design.)

These are digital machine embroidery design NOT a finished product. You must own an embroidery machine. You musy know how to unzip your files and transfer files to your machine.

Our designs are manually digitized and test stitched before release. For best results we recommend stitching our designs unaltered on projects hooped with stabilizer appropriate for the material being used. We cannot guarantee results when our designs have been modified in software or non-traditional hooping methods are used. We highly recommend doing a test stitch on an altered design before putting it on a valuable blank. That being said, we are often asked for a recommendation for embroidery editing software for customizing purposes:
